  • Approximately 6.1m internal load length
  • Approximately 35m³ load volume

High-volume transport for suitable commercial requirements

Our 18 tonne box truck provides a large enclosed load space for commercial deliveries, distribution, stock movements, business relocations and other high-volume transport requirements.

This truck offers considerably more capacity than a 7.5 tonne vehicle. It is supplied on a price-on-application basis, with quotations based on the required dates, estimated mileage, intended use and applicable operating requirements.

Please note: The 18 tonne truck does not have a tail lift. Suitable loading and unloading facilities must therefore be available.

The customer must arrange suitable comprehensive insurance and meet all applicable operator-licence, driver entitlement, Driver CPC, tachograph and drivers’ hours requirements.

Which Truck Do You Need?

Compare the 7.5 tonne tail-lift truck with the larger 18 tonne box truck

Choose the 7.5 tonne truck when:

  • You require considerably more space than a Luton van
  • A hydraulic tail lift would assist with suitable items
  • You are moving furniture, appliances, boxed goods or equipment
  • The vehicle’s available payload and dimensions suit your load

Ask about the 18 tonne truck when:

  • You have a substantially larger commercial load
  • You are moving stock, equipment or high-volume boxed goods
  • You have suitable loading and unloading facilities
  • Your business can provide the required insurance and operating arrangements

If you are unsure, give our team the measurements and estimated total weight of your load before booking.

Important Truck Hire Requirements

Important Truck Hire Requirements

Licence and operating rules must be confirmed before your hire

Truck hire has additional requirements compared with hiring a car or van. Please speak to Regal Rental before booking or operating a truck.

  • Driving entitlement: Regal requires the appropriate Category C entitlement for its truck hire vehicles.
  • Operator’s licence: Business use may require an appropriate goods vehicle operator’s licence unless a legal exemption applies.
  • Driver CPC: Driver CPC requirements may apply depending on the driver, journey and intended use.
  • Tachograph: A valid driver card, tachograph use and drivers’ hours rules may apply.
  • Insurance: Insurance arrangements vary. The 18 tonne truck requires suitable customer-arranged comprehensive insurance.
  • Weight limits: The payload, gross vehicle weight, axle limits and tail-lift rating must never be exceeded.

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is operated legally and that all required licences, insurance, qualifications and operating arrangements are in place.
