A little planning goes a long way

Choose your van.
Start with your load.

A van’s usable dimensions and payload both matter. Give the team the size and approximate weight of your load if you need help comparing categories.

  • Measure the longest, widest and tallest items, including packaging.
  • Check door openings, loading height and the available payload for the actual vehicle.
  • Plan parking, loading space and access at the collection and delivery addresses.

Your local collection point

Collect from Chatham Dockside.

Our Dockside collection point serves van-hire customers across the Medway towns. Before collecting, check where you will park and unload at both ends of your journey, particularly for narrow access, restricted loading areas or bulky deliveries. Give the team your item dimensions and hire dates if you need help choosing.

What vans can I hire in Chatham?

Ask about compact, short wheelbase, long wheelbase, XLWB and Luton categories. Availability varies by date. Compare your load dimensions and weight with the actual vehicle before booking.

Can I hire a van for one day or a weekend?

Yes. Daily, weekend, weekly and longer-term options are available, subject to dates and current hire terms. Agree the collection and return times rather than assuming a calendar weekend is one hire period.

Should I choose a panel van or a Luton?

Consider the size, shape and weight of your items and how you will load them. A panel van may suit a smaller collection, while a Luton may be useful for bulky furniture. Compare local Luton options.

How much can I load into the van?

The available payload depends on the actual vehicle. Load volume does not determine safe load weight. Ask for the vehicle dimensions and payload, and allow for passengers and equipment when planning.

Can I hire a van for my business?

Yes. Discuss trade work, deliveries, a temporary replacement or additional fleet cover with the branch. Longer-term rental and business leasing have their own terms.

Where do I collect in Chatham?

Unit 6A, Dockside Outlet Centre, Maritime Way, Chatham, Kent, ME4 3ED. View branch information and map.

Can I return outside the branch opening hours?

An agreed key-drop return may be available. Confirm the return time, parking location and instructions with the Chatham team before leaving the vehicle.
